Asus is introducing a new line of thin and light laptops called Zenbooks. The Asus Zenbooks will be available in two screen sizes. There will be two models with 11.6 inch displays and three models with 13.3 inch displays.
The Zenbooks are based on the Intel ultrabook platform. By Intel’s own definition an ultrabook is a laptop computer that weighs less than 3 pounds, measures less than 0.8 inches in thickness and costs less than $1000. These machines will have Intel’s latest processors. While Intel wants these laptopsto cost less than $1000, many PC makers have already made it clear that building a laptop with these specifications and that price point is nearly impossible.
All of Asus Zenbooks have solid state drives, 4GB of RAM, WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0 and 0.3 megapixel webcams. They also have Intel GMA 3000 HD graphics, USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, microHDMI output port, mini VGA port and windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit operating system.
Asus says that the Zenbooks take less than 2 seconds to resume from sleep.
